Has anyone ever told you that you lack a certain 'je ne sais quoi'? What!

Question: mean by that?

Answers: mean by that?

I don't know what "Je ne sais quoi," means. Or for that matter, "Soup de Jour," 'cuz it's different every day. But I'm pretty sure "Carpe Diem" means "Catch of the Day," only it usually ain't carp.

I gotta run. I've got tickets for this Journalism Awards Thingy. One of those rubber chicken dinners I hear they're serving Pullet Surprise.

You lack a certain "I don't know what"

They don't know exactly but it's something you're missing

you lack understanding

I'm not sure considering the translation of je ne sais quoi is "i don't know"

If they don't know what they mean, how can you?

Something.

When you just cant put your finger on it.

Unusall quality Two years of French and More to go!!!!!!11

that they dont knwo how to explain what im lacking...

I lack a 'certain I don't know why'

do you know what Vu Ja Des is?

it's the feeling that you NEVER were here before...

it means, you dont know shoot

'je ne sais quoi' translates to 'i don't know what' so they're trying to tell you that your just lacking in something that they can't quite figure out.

Lol, not that I lack, but I have a certain je ne sais quoi. They are saying that you lack a certain essence?

It's French for ' I don't know what'. I guess it means that they lack something, but they don't know what it is exactly.

i dont know what

you know panash its just i dont know cant put my finger on it

Yes just because I was wearing white socks with my tuxedo. I simply thought it would be more sanitary. What's the deal !

Some kind of indescrible quality/talent that they can't put their finger on but know it when they see it. Like when several professional actors try out for the same part, but one stands out for some unknown reason.

That you lack, "an indefinable something; a special unknown ingredient or quality."

1. Je ne sais quoi

French: "I do not know what".

As far as english speaking people are concerned, this is spoken by snooty types as to sound more sophisticated than they are, used humorously as such by people who *do* know what it means, and spoken by French when they need to say "I don't know what" in French.

Generally speaking, can be used if you're feeling particularly suave to give an explanation of something of a certain unknown or indescribable quality.

Example:"This house lacks what the French may call a certain je ne sais quoi," said the pretentious rich man.

"Je ne sais quoi" means " I dont know what"
So they say you lack something but they dont know what it is you lack.
Personally I think they are full of @$%$
Maybe they should take a good look at themselves before they start criticising everyone else.

Loosely translated, the speaker says, he "cannot put his finger on it, but you lack something, possibly in your personality"?

lack of something..

No

Nothing

I think it means, "Which way to the toilet?"

Yes, I assume they mean that they don't know what I lack so that means I lack nothing?
