Question: you are in the middle of something important and you start getting lots of phone calls all of a sudden?! Happens to me all the time. When I'm bored, no one ever bothers phoning but when I have more important things to do than chat, the phone calls don't stop.

Yep, every time I sit down to read, *ring ring ring*, pick it up and then hang up on them (it's telemarketers), I go back to reading, then *ring ring ring*, hang up on 'em.
Then when I am doing something that isn't important it never rings, talk about annoying.

Everybody has that almost. Even me who hides under the computar desk when a stranger comes over.

yes! i usually dont pick up though or i call them when im done writing down my train of thoughts on paper = )
Yes but I don't feel compelled to answer my phone just because it rings. If I'm busy, the caller can wait until I call them back.
Yes I do. I usually tell the person I am busy and I will call them back later. What's worse is when you sit down to dinner with your family and a commercial for feminine itch comes on the TV. That's a surefire way of losing your appetite.
That's why they invented the off button and voice mail, my friend.
Perhaps I keep my phone off too much, but most of the time I have either temporarily lost the cell or it's off....
Some of my so-called "friends" have left nasty voice messages for me, saying things like "why the hell did you buy a phone if you don't answer" , etc. etc....
But who said I have to be like a1-800 suicide hotline? If you really want to reach me just leave a message or email me or text me... you will find a way.
Oh, but to answer your main question - yes that is pretty annoying and it's happened to me too!

I have not had that experience...I have never owned a phone and I probably never will.

It most certainly is especially when the call is more important to you than what you are in the middle of. Then as you said when you have all the best time in the world to take it. Nothing.
