it's because they are miserable with themselves and think they are never good enough. he is afraid of commitment and being happy, so he creates these problems from nothing so he doesn't have to be dissappointed in himself when he fails. (although he totally should be; he just sees it as the relationship was flawed, not himself)

I dont think cheating always means no love... a lot of times, emotions can get the best of you, and anger and confusion sometimes just results in cheating. Plus, drinking and getting high is quite common, so cheating from being intoxicated happens quite often as well... doesn't mean the love wasn't there.
Because they have no respect for anyone not even themselves
