What triggers in a person the "belief" that the whole world owes them !

Question: I think this attitude is a combination of factors. The first one is genetic. Our gene pool is getting so weak that I think it allows for genetic personality flaws. This was not the norm 30 years ago even- but recently it is common for a person to believe the world owes them something. The other thing that leads to this belief is the hideous error of parenting specialists who denied spanking and punishments for an entire generation because it might hurt their fragile ego's. This left an entire generation thinking they were somehow better than everyone else and they do not have to pay the consequences for their actions.

Their parents coddled them and protected them from every hardship and when they had to face the real world and it's unfairness.... they began to think the world was being unfair and it owed them more than it was giving to them. People who understand that life is just not fair sometimes, will not typically have the "World owes me" view of life.

Another reason is the breakdown in a belief in a higher power or God. By believing in a power greater than yourself, you understand that you are not the ultimate being on the earth. ( I am not saying all Atheists have this thought but this is just part of the equation that makes people feel above others) The rule has gone from "Do unto others as you would have them do until you" TO "Do unto others before they do unto you"

These are only a few of the contributing factors that make a person believe the world owes them something. It is a huge part in it though.

You should ask Britney directly. She would know the answer.

idk, maybe they just feel that way.

An inflamed ego and a lazy a**.

I don't know, but ppl like that need to get over themselves.

Parents who spoiled them rotten growing up.

Good question I don't know and neither do they.

Laziness and self loathing trigger the "woe is me attitude." It's easier to blame everyone else for their miserable lives, rather than get up off their butts and actually do something to make it better.

I think it has a lot to do with how they were raised.

self will run riot.

Massive amounts of self pity!
Peace.

Narcissism. They so love themselves, that they feel that everyone else should act and feel toward them in the same. While the condition is benign, society treats them as if they are extremely neurotic. When the conditions worsens, they become violent and criminal.
