Red Wine Drinkers, at what age did you began to enjoy the taste of red wine?!
Question: For me it was in my mid-twenties.
Answers: For me it was in my mid-twenties.
At about 21, bartending in an italian restaurant. I did become a white wine person over the years though with my first taste of Mer Soleil chardonnay....yummmmmyyyyyy!
Ohhh couldn't we just drink wine everyday? Or would that be testing our "will power"? ;)
I'd say 22....
I was about 14.
About 5, I grew up in an Italian family. Wine with dinner.
When I was almost 19. My friend's parents owned a vineyard and they always had bottles of cab-savs and merlots around. We started off not liking it but let me tell you, it sure does grow on you. I loove an excellent bottle of cab-sav, aged about 7 years! That with some dark chocolate and my girlfriends... lots of memorable conversations ;-) Cheers!
23.... took a long time to get accustomed to the taste, but I have a newfound appreciation for it. In moderation, of course. :)
Mid 20's. I think I did what everybody does-started with Boones Farm and worked my way up the classy ladder!
20
I never really FULLY appreciated red wine until I was in my thirties... I liked it well enough before that, but was more interested in beer and liquor. Now I can appreciate all of them.
i started drinking wine in genearl about 21 and didn't start liking red wine till about 24. Now i love all different kinds of red wine and can hardly stand to drink most white wines. And i'm talking about the good dry red wines not the Lambrusco crap my b/f drinks thinking he is drinking red wine
mid-thirties. That goes for pretty much all higher-end liquors too. In my twenties I learned to appreciate good ale, stout etc. including white wine--I remember particularly being served a glass of German white wine when I was about 24, and I thought it was pretty good; the bartender then said, "now try this", and poured me what looked to be an identical glass out of an identical bottle. The second was clearly superior; he told me, "that's the difference between 1974 and 1973". In my teens I liked anything cheap, including homemade-- when I was 16 a friend and I used to make our own beer; we'd make it on Monday and drink it on Saturday. Don't do that anymore!!!!!!
