Ok, Jamie Lynn Spears Issue?!
Question: I understand that she is a teen and she is pregnant. She is under a lot of scrutiny for it, for loosing her role model status. But I do give her props, because she isn't having an abortion or giving the child up for adoption. She is taking responsibility for what has happened. Doesn't that make her a role model for THAT situation? She did something wrong but now she is doing the right thing. Do you agree or disagree, and why do you feel that way?

she sold her pregnancy to a tabloid magazine, totally giving up her privacy at this time when she needs it.
to me she is not mature enough to have a child
besides everyone who has kids at 14 or 15 don't make the news so its not like its uncommon in this world
well I don't care its just another "Spears" the tabloids can rip apart and I am sick to death about hearing about them all!
I think the right thing would be giving that baby up for adoption before it becomes corrupt like the others in that family.

All I can say for the matter is, she has money and she could have gotten rid of it without anyone knowing, and she chose not to. She also chose to tell everyone before the tabliods started catching on, so you just have to give her props for that.
All we can do is hope she is a better parent than her sister.
What's wrong with having an abortion or putting the kid up for adoption? How is that taking any less responsibility? Having a child at such a young age can ruin your life. I have no idea how having a child at 16 and keeping it makes one a role model. It mostly just makes Jamie Lynn an immature little girl who shouldn't have been having sex in the first place.

A role model would be someone who didnt get pregnant in the first place. Getting an abortion would certainly make the situation even less positive. Taking responsibility should be done from step one whenever possible, not after responsibility was ignored and created a mess in the first place. It is good that she seems to at least be trying to do the right thing now however.
I disagree, she has set a horrible example for young girls, first she had sex with an older guy who should go to jail for satutory rape, second by keeping the child she is saying to young girls if you get pregnant no big deal everything will be ok, but it wont, most young girls do not have the finacial support to raise a child and continue school and so fall into poverty at a young age and so the cycle begins of bad parenting followed by young child births and so on and so on and so on......
Her mother should be ashamed of herself. She allowed a 16 year old MINOR to live with a 19 year old ADULT. WTF did she think would happen?
Poor Britney and Jamie Lynn....they really have no idea how to handle life with such a poor example of a mother.
Oh ... well ...I guess it must be true if THEY reported it last night. So what do you want me to say that it is ok that this 16 year old is pregnant and that she is a great role model? It is NOT ok. She is just in damage control mode to try to save her "career". There is obviously something wrong with the entire family. I still blame the mother. I think they should yank her *** off of tv and replace her with a true role model like Amanda Bynes...who does not drink.
I agree with you that it is good that she is taking care of her situation, but she should have been more careful since she is considered to be a role model to young girls.

Hell, I'd keep the baby too if I was going to bank $1M for the first photo shoot of mother and child. That's a no-brainer. So as you said, she didn't get compensated for the story BUT there was/is incentive to reveal the pregnancy and keep the baby.
If selling yourself and child for money is being a good role model then kudos. There are many teen parents out there who don't have that luxury.

I agree. She is taking responsibility for her actions. She isn't going to abort and she gets props from me for that. This kind of thing happens everyday. Hopefully she'll be a better mother than her sister is!
