What to write in a sympathy (wife's death) card?!

Question: It's for my grandpa, my grandma died yesterday.

Outside of card:
Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and wer are never the same.

Inside: Our thoughts are with you.

So far I have wrote: Grandpa, above the our thoughts are with you, and below, Love very much- Julianne

What are other care-filled comforting words to write?

What are other care-filled comforting words to write?

'Sorry for your loss Grandpa. We will all miss Grandma so much, but she is in a better place and I know she is smiling down on you as you were her special friend in life'.

What you have written is perfect...

There is no need for more. The fact that your grandpa knows that you care, is enough for him for right now. He is experiencing a flood of emotions, and just knowing he has support and love from the family is the most important thing to him right now...

are you writing a eulogy? listen why do you get ideas from others about what to say about your grandpa? if i wrote something about mine are you gonna cheat and use it on yours? if you're a person with a BA you would know by now not to steal others words and use it as your own. god damb dumb college graduate.

That's about all you can say.

You could try something along the lines of "I wanted to let you know that I love you very much, and I sympathize with your loss.I know that losing someone who is precious to you is hard, and I will see you through every step of the way. Remember,", (insert card's message) "Love very much-Julianne"

I hope your card brightens his day and that he turns out alright.

let him know that if he needs anything you will be there for him also

"I'm so sorry" is always good. "I know how you feel" is not; you don't.

Can you share a fond memory or two of your grandmother? Share a story about her? Tell how much she meant to you?

Don't worry about hurting your grandfather with these remembrances. He probably will be grateful. When someone we love died, it's common to fear that they won't be remembered. Showing your grandpa that you will always remember your grandma is likely to be comforting to him.

Hope this helps. My sympathies to your family.

write that you will miss her, add a couple things you loved or admired about her. and let gramps know that you are there for him when needs someone to talk to. tell him you'd like to see him soon, he probably has a big lonely spot in his heart.

"Grandma may be gone from this earth but her memories will live on forever in each and everyone one of us"
If you can remember a special moment when your Gran did something special for you or made you laugh write it also.

i like this poem the most:

When we two parted
In silence and tears,
Half broken-hearted
To sever for years,
Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
Colder thy kiss;
Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.

The dew of the morning
Sunk chill on my brow--
It felt like the warning
Of what I feel now.
Thy vows are all broken,
And light is thy fame;
I hear thy name spoken,
And share in its shame.

They name thee before me,
A knell to mine ear;
A shudder comes o'er me--
Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee,
Who knew thee too well--
Long, long shall I rue thee,
Too deeply to tell.

In secret we met--
In silence I grieve,
That thy heart could forget,
Thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee
After long years,
How should I greet thee?--
With silence and tears.
