Trea, I love that question!! It makes you think how silly it is.
I guess that they can see farther and more than from ground level. My hubby and I went to Niagara Falls, Ontario. We went up the Skylon and what a magnificent view. People were putting the money in like you say. I enjoyed it just the way it was. You can see forever it seems.

People like to stay on a higher position than be walked upon. Besides, the view is better, the air is fresher at higher lever. Physically, the eye balls feels more comfortable to look down than look up. If you wish to look upward, either you have to raise your head, bend your neck backwards, or you have to raise your eye balls. Try it for a minute, you will know why. You will be tired.

they do it for the 5 seconds they take to enjoy the view?
