It's that some people have a shirt attention span and don't have the patience to read very long answers and therefore prefer answers that are short and to the point.
Because they are trolls and dorks
As i pondered a question that has popped up in my inter-web, i have thought long for the perfect and knowledgeable answer...truly defining monument in our human history

its because they dont want to spend time reading
I usually just try to give a broad overview, with few details. I may or mat not come back later to pontificate on a more intimate spectrum.
short answers go a lot faster
I personnally prefer long answers with details
