Do you think Iran is a "dangerous" state?!

Question: I absolutely believe Iran is a dangerous state, at least under the current regime. At some point I believe will implode with the help of Ahmadinejad and possibly the Israelies. I don't think the US will have to do anything, at least not right away.

Nope. But most everything can be dangerous when provoked enough. A lot of things that we claim of them can be also said of us. We've got nukes. Our president has said some equally offensive things. What a lot of people fail to see is that once we decide that Iran also needs to be policed, they will have no compunction about attacking American soil. If we leave things as is and stop acting as the "nanny of the world" then innocent American and Iranian lives won't need to be sacrificed. Iran is its own state, dangerous or not, and it isn't our governments right to tinker with Iranian lives. When the Iranians see the light, they will start a revolution, as history time and time again has shown people to be capable of.

To the idiots below me: "state" can refer to a nation.

Ahem:

State, noun, adjective.
noun
a. a state, as of the United States (used especially in its official name).
Ex. The State of Texas is one of the United States.
b. a nation. (sloopjohnB, can you read?)
2. the territory, government, or authority of a state.
Ex. Never any State was ... so open to receive strangers into their body, as were the Romans (Francis Bacon).

Thank you, World Book Dictionary.

Okay then. I'll back it up with the Oxford Dictionary.

state |stāt| noun

2) a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government : the state of Israel. ? an organized political community or area forming part of a federal republic : the German state of Bavaria.

Miriam-Webster's

5 a: a politically organized body of people usually occupying a definite territory; especially : one that is sovereign b: the political organization of such a body of people

-in other words, a nation.

its a state???

Ummm, isn't Iran a country? Ana who are you calling idiot, you're the one agreeing that a state is also a country! Remind me to never use THAT dictionary! It is clearly not accurate. And Webster's?

It's a country!

dumb Bush

Yes.

Iran and that region of the world has always been unstable with all the Muslim fanatic extrmeists. Our American people were held hostage over there for 444 days and will never forget that as our lilly livered President at that time Jimmy Carter done nothing and turned his back on the Shah of Iran. Their maniac President Armidinijad was one of the fanatics behind the hostage crisis although he denies it, preaches hatred against the United States referring to it as the great satan and wants Israel off the face of the world. They are a rogue state and cannot be trusted particularly with nuclear weapons which could produce catastrophic results. Anybody that thinks we can negotiate with them is crazy and unrealistic.
