Well Shelly I'm 39 and I don't feel over the hill yet. 36 is hardly old. If this guy you like can't deal with a woman that's the real problem. Love can happen at any age, but if that guy has a certain age he seeks out he's likely into controlling his relationships--be careful about that.
You are not too old. And if he is using your age as an excuse he is a fool.

If you look good it shouldn't matter the age, there are guys out there that are in their 20s dating women in their 30s. I think some of them like the experienced woman type.
As men get older, I think it makes them feel better about themselves to date younger women. Not all men are like that. As for being old at 36, I don't know. I have the same question and I'm 35. I think we (women) start worrying about getting old at this age. We aren't 'young' anymore. Hey! but don't feel bad. At least you don't have a gorgeous sister that is 10 years older than you. 30 is the new 20 anyway...your age is not a big deal! Its just that men are always going to generally prefer youth...some guys like older women look at Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz and Tina Turner.

36 is it. The big one. The final curtain. People over the age of 36 should be rounded up and pickled in vinegar to stop them blocking up all the beds in old peoples homes. Swimming and jogging just add to the mess as bits of flaking fogey drop off or dissolve in your wake creating a bio hazard. If you do have to venture out in public in your decomposing state the very least you should do is wrap yourself in clingfilm to stop all the flakes of dead skin and stuff from escaping. As for the 49 year old boyfriend, well he should stay in his crypt and shut up.
