What's hazing?!

Question: For example like if a guy wants to get in a fraternity they will have to go through the hazing process (which is illegal).
The guys that already in the fraternity will beat them up and do terrible things to the guy who wants to get in.
It's really messed up.

its when frat houses and sports teams etc... make pledges and new team members do outrageous and harmful stuff to be respected and accepted into the frat house etc...
