We now accept as "the norm", or "okay" these things:
Television programming based (regardless od the "stated format")
on cruelty and humiliation of people. "Reality" shows are an embarrassment to decent human beings, and we all know this... and yet we do nothing.
We now produce (at astronomical cost!) the single-most violent, ugly, and depraved chronicles of insanity, vicious cruelty, and
revolting human behavior; and call it entertainment.
The creators of this crap should be ostracized. Instead they are nominated for and chosen to receive top honors in their industry.
We see a PG and PG13 rating as the reason to decide a film will be boring.
Not only do we have up-close-and-personal detailed depictions of evil, we reward it's production values.
Photographers of celebrity travel in packs like rabid dogs. They invade privacy, commit assault, and drive the pursued into fatal accidents for "the shot". With impunity. These monsters brought down a much-loved PRINCESS of one of the most venerated royal families of history... of the free world.... and we buy the photographs!
We are citizens of the most powerful country in the world; considered to be a shining example of freedom, opportunity, and equality for rich and poor, men and women, of all nationalities. HERE can the immigrants of the world receive an equal and fighting chance to prove themselves; to be the best they can be, REGARDLESS of race, color or creed. My country is BASED on the premise of all are created equal. My country is a beacon to the oppressed of the world.
Our 'elected' leader of the most looked-to, influential country on the planet ordered a SNEAK-ATTACK! A "premptive strike" is exactly what the Japanese perpetuated on December 7, 1941. The President of the United States ordered just such an attack; and we not only didn't reject that and his other lunatic actions out of hand... we reelected him...
Our President has effectively preempted our the Bill of Rights! Our CONSTITUTION, people! And we sit and DO NOTHING!
One of the finest persons on this earth -a woman fighting for her country's future, and the freedom of her people, and a friend of my country... was MURDERED!!
And we sit, and do nothing! With her died virtually ANY hope of catching and stopping one of the world's true ememies, to ALL!
A chid-murderer, and the ONLY outside individual to perptuate a strike against the U.S. ... ON U.S. soil, murdering THOUSANDS of our citizens, and THIS WOMAN- the only one willing to help us find this monster -in her OWN COUNTRY- was gunned-down in the street, and our "leader" does NOTHING!
We hear of "global-warming" and the steps we can take to avoid the destruction of EVERYone's home... and we do nothing!
The above "events" are reminiscient of Ancient Rome.

Hope for the best and expect for the worse. I personally don't believe in any of these notions "the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning". I believe that God exist and it's here and now, because as far as the interpretations of every individuals concerns. We can't deny that raising questions regarding life cannot actually guarantee or give us clear answers. You'd still stick to with what you believe in the first. All I know is that there are no assurances but only experiences.

When Yahoo Answers gets too crazy, I just stop looking at it and go somewhere else - that way I won't destroy myself! I am not very aware of current events, because for years I found them to be interesting, but mostly depressing. I worried a lot about things that really never concerned me.... so now I simply try to enjoy life. Current events are a distant memory, and the effects on me are fairly minimal at best.
