What he did was steal my small children and go into hiding. Twice. The first time, I found them and got them back after three months. The second time, it took two years, during which time my children were left with untrustworthy sitters who abused and molested them.
Having my children's futures destroyed by his need to punish me for leaving him was the worst thing possible.
