If you half-close you eyes, then you can see the skull very clearly...
it's an interesting picture...
it shows that underneath our vanity (the superficial image of ourselves that we present to the world), is the reality of life and death, creation and decay, eternity and our unconditioned consciousness.
If we escape from our worries about unimportant aspects of life such as our image and what people think about us, and we accept the fact that all the material things in this life are temporary, then we can find happiness and joy within ourselves.
thanku... but i have to admit, that i didn't notice the skull until i read califiyah's answer!
I think that a lot of other people didn't see it either.. maybe that's why you were getting so many 'unhelpful' answers!?!

    I will not judge a real picture. If you look at it real close there are two picture in one.
    It's great, pointed and somewhat humorous commentary on the vanity of the sex...
    Way her vanity and mirror is angled makes it look like a skill doesn't it.
    Took a couple of seconds to discern whether she was pretty or ugly because of that. But she is pretty.
    Well she's meant to be pretty in the picture, but I think you're supposed to step back and take in the whole painting to get the "hidden" message the artist wants you to see.
