Usually, people are more likely to learn from their own mistakes than from having others butt in with their attitude and hostility. Doing so will just make your co-worker more resistant to new ideas. Think about that before doing something dumb that will just put you on his level.
Sometimes it's good to speak your mind because sometimes other people need outsiders opions but i think it would have been more appropriate to speak your mind if you were actually the person that they were conversing with.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I once overheard a few hispanic ladies talking in sapnish about that Arabian couple and how he probably beats her just cause he's arabian and violent like that.
