I was in the '94 Quake out in the S.F. Valley. I was crashed out in my car at 6:31am and my car began rocking. I thought it was a hoax. But then I saw the cylinders on the telephone poles exploding and I was awestruck at flash after flash of blue light and sparks. I drove down Ventura Bl and I saw an apt. bldg. crumpled; fire hydrants lost their plugs and water sailed into the air. Power lines were arcing blue ferocious fire against sidewalks as they danced around like serpents. I saw a 10 story building that had completely lost its face and a hospital was on fire. Too surreal...

Yes, an earthquake. Not a really bad one but enough to knock a glass off my kitchen counter. I thought it was pretty cool to be honest.

We get at least two earthquakes a week...... Not major ones of course. But they're often big enough to wake you up in the middle of the night.
Loma Prieta 1989. Scared the crap out of me.

We were 20 miles from the epicenter (Simi Valley) and had $30K of damage to a house that we were trying to sell! The roof had a twist in the tiles like a big fist had hit it. We had locked filing cabinets (thumb type) that had drawers that flew across the room.
My daughter slept through it! A book fell on her head to wake her up.
Mexico City, 1985. And many others but none as big as that one.
I never have and hopefully never will.

I've been through one earthquake, a very minor one that just broke a few window panes at my school.
I've been through four small hurricanes. It is a trip to see Dad driving a four foot auger into the ground and then chaining the lawn mower to it. Then later to peek out the window and see it floating in the breeze.

Hurricane Juan, back in 2003..although Halifax got hit worse than my area did. It was really scary!
Earthquake July 2006, registered 3.2 on the Richter Scale...(very rare in Nova Scotia)
In 2005, there was a lot of flooding in my area due to heavy rains (my house is up in the hills, so I wasn't affected)
I saw a mini tornado down at the beach one day...water spout kind and did my husband and I get out of there in an awful hurry.
I was scared out of my mind for all of these. I'll probably face another hurricane or two in my lifetime at least, because NS gets the remains of what comes up the eastern seaboard of the States a good part of the time. Never want to face any of them ever again!
4 earthquakes, largest was over 7 on the scale. And no I dont live in California.

Yep. I experienced 2-3 earthquakes last month. I always enjoy earthquakes b/c they are infrequent and fun to experience. I havnt been in any fires or floods or anything else.
