What date is too late for Christmas lights?!

Question: I am curious as to what date most people think it's time to stop turning on the Christmas lights. I am not saying you have to get everything down if it's cold, but come on do we need to keep lighting them up. I have seen lights lit in February! I personally think it should be an ordinance by the Christmas patrol that no more lit displays after January 15th. Any ideas?

Hi Shaggy....I'm with you about the neighbors with the year round displays.....I usually take ours down on New Years Day or the Saturday right after....I can't stand seeing those icicle lights hanging from gutters in the summertime! It's bad enough to see Christmas decorations in Target before Halloween. We even have a radio station here that is all Christmas all day and night beginning 11/1......ugh....enough already.......have a good one

SUNDAY!

I say December 26th

January 6
my neighboor has them on all year round
it is annoying

traditionaly the sixth of january in england.

After New Years....

I think, that as long as there's snow on the ground, it's ok to have christmas lights on...
But if you're not around snow.. then maybe late January, early February

Most folks in my neighborhood take down their outside lights the first weekend in January. I had to unplug mine the other night because my circuit "tripped" and blew out over half a string of lights (along with other blown light bulbs).

I am leaving my tree up until end of January. It went up late this year because I waited until my Furnace was installed.

I would say New Year's Day. I try to have my Christmas stuff down by then. I didn't make it this year, though, so guess what I'm doing tomorrow? I wouldn't turn on my outdoor lights after the first, though.

I say January 7th . After that it's time to take them down! It's crazy if you have them out and it's still Febuary! If you have them out and it's febuary your being lazy.If you are stalling to take down your christmas lights, you are being lazy!

i say take them down on newyears eve... or at least turn them off for crying out loud!!!!

First day of spring!!
