When you "honk" , why do you do it ?? Will "traffic" go away!

I usually honk to alert a driver who is pulling/backing out and not paying attention.

Being Cali born and raised it is illegal to "honk" unless it is an emergency. It drives me mad when people honk behind me telling me to go when it is unsafe. Sometimes I sit there a few seconds more just for the "H" of it!!! It doesn't make anyone more faster, in fact, it slows people down!!!
I don't have road rage, I honk to remind the scum sucking pig driving like he owns and solely occupies the road that they are still other people there.
It's kinda like saying "Hey sap sucker, this isn't a life sized magna doodle!"
But I don't have road rage and flipping someone off is just proof that you've had the thorough training for driving in today's society; I mean it's common knowledge that it's the 8th Hand Signal. (that too is universal)
It's matter of habit and now they got to used of it, even on red signal they hnoooooooooooooook and honk.
If I do and it's not very often that I do but it is because I am Pi**ed! I have precious cargo in my vehicle!!! No it does not make the traffic go away but I released my stress by letting them know they made me mad!! I don't do it often though! I don't want to teach my kids road rage!
I do it because it makes me feel better.
Being in Kansas, people don't honk that much. So I only use it as a warning or to wave and say "hi" to a friend.
