I think sometimes people don't get as much advice/help that they need or would like and as time moves on the answers can decrease as the question is pulled down further,so I think people do it to be kept in mind.

Annoys me too. It is like the person is using the questioner to get themselves more answers to their own question.

It is really annoying to see that. I think that some people are trying to get the world record for the most answers on some days. Heck, I've seen people answer a question with just the link to their question.
One of my contacts only had two answers to her latest q and she didn't post her link on any of her answers. She left it go and sent it to a vote. People should be more for the question they're answering, not for getting answers to their questions.
it annoys me, but especially if the question is something like "am i pretty?". its okay(ish) if its a good question that takes some thought and is interesting or if it somewhat pertains to the question being answered. but ya i agree w/ you it is really annoying
