Do it around 11:30. Just before they go out to lunch, preferebly. Your getaway car should be a car commonly seen in your area. Here, I would have to chose a tan Impala. No bumper stickers, or other identifying marks. If at all possible, get a second tan Impala (or car of your choosing), and switch the plates. Even better if your neighbor owns said car from which plates were switched. This way, if anyone gets the number, they will follow it to your neighbors house. Don't wear all black. Guys should wear dress pants with a nice, commonly seen shirt. Sunglasses are preferable. All tattoos and other identifying marks should be covered. If you have an uncommon haircut, wear a hat. But no ski mask. Try using make up to alter your aperance some. Women should wear a buisness outfit (skirt and blouse) and sunglasses. Send the security gaurds away, and make sure the clerk is as far away as possible from the alert button. Get the money (but DO NOT be greedy about it). Take what you can get in a reasonable amount of time. But do not appear rushed. Make sure you have a talented driver in the getaway car. Do not drive home. Drive to a crowded place, ditch the car, split up and meet later. Robery complete.
You can tell, I've spent some time planning this out. I just can't stand stupid criminals. I mean, what were they thinking?!

There is never a good time to rob a bank. It is stupid and you will spend years in prison.
i would say middle of the nite -- when no people --or very few are present.
I have always had a fantasy to rob the "mint" in the middle of the nite -- in San Francisco -- dressed in black awesome catsuit -- and its just me and this intricate system i have to beat -- kind of Lara Croft/Cat Woman meets the Mission Impossible invulnerable securtiy system, i beat it, and walk away rich enough for 10 lifetimes -- !
In your sleep! At least you can claim that when they take your stupid *** to jail. Who knows it just might work.
