First of all, yuck. Secondly, I've wondered the same thing myself. I don't wear them, but I read on a medical advice website that wearing thongs can lead to bacterial vaginosis, from the material rubbing back and forth against "this" and that." My goal has always been to keep my underwear outta there, so the whole thong thing just confuses me. :)
I've never actually smelled the back of a thong after its been worn. Personally, I wear boyshorts....not b/c of s.h.i.t smelling thongs, but b/c they're much more comfortable and they make my a.s.s look fabulous!!! LOL
