I absolutely love the sound of the ocean.......
Especially, at night.....(that's also when the crabs come out, & the flounder)
My whole family (my wife, our daughter, and our two boys) love to get nets, flashlights, and a big bucket, and just chase and catch the crabs that prowl the beach at night. It becomes a game with us on who can catch the most.
Of course we release them once we are thru.
We also love the fishing piers at our favorite vacation spot, Dauphin Island, Alabama. During the day, it's mainly sand trout and sea bass, of a night the flounder come out and you can see them in swarms by the lights of the pier.
And since the beaches there are private, bonfires are allowed on the beach. Just building a fire around the beach and listening to the waves crash against the shore, and just silently watching the view of the moon and the stars.
Also the sites and sounds of all the sea gulls and pelicans that would approach us on the outside deck of our condo there. As me and my oldest son would clean and filet the fish we catch during the day, it would attract DROVES of sea gulls and pelicans eager for a scrap of fish remains.
God, I'm missing it now.
Such great memories and great times we all have there.
Geeze Jo, you've got me wishing Summertime was already here so we can return once again to the sea and all its majestic beauty it hold.

Even underwater...the sounds (and sights) of the sea are relaxing. I miss it very much.
Absolutely....that is one of the things I love about our summer home....the beach is very accessible....and I love to go down there and watch and listen to the sea.

For 10 years we lived near the ocean, I always loved the sound of the sea, it`s too bad I get so seasick.
yes...i live right across the road from the beach and it is so soothing...not too nice on a stormy night though, it can get quite scarey....
I love it. It is a Beautiful and peaceful gift from God. xx

Ooh yes Jo, love the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. I also use this to get to sleep sometimes - visualise the sea gently lapping the sea shore, it is soooo soothing! xx

I've really only been near the sea once, and didn't really get the chance to hear it. So, I would love to hear it and then tell you ;)
WoW!! I love to listen to it late at night when there is a clear star lit sky. I remember a few years visiting a friend who lived close to the sea and i remember falling to sleep with the sound of the sea.
