It's not a bad idea but remember it's a toy - that's why they sell it in the toy section of stores.
It is a bad idea. Even the most agnostic of individuals have had terrible, frightening experiences with those.
my best friend and i used to use one all the time and i don't recommend them. it's very creepy.we didnt have any weird things happen but it's just all together creepy.
My Mom says she played in her attic one time and the board flew across the room and hit the wall.
In my opinion, I won't believe all the rumors and stories unless it happens to me. Which it won't because I will never play that crap.

Both of my parents never let me have or even "play" with one... They both had really freaky expreiences with them. And not in a cool way either.... Be careful.
I have never had any experience with one and I hope never to have one. They are not a play thing. It is a serious serious serious thing to be messing around with. If you intend to use one, be prepared for the possible consequences.
Supposedly it has to do with the occult. There's stories about the ouija board. It's interesting yet creepy. I used one once when i was younger and it didn't work. but then again i don't really believe in that mumbo jumbo.
Its good to use if you just look at it as a game. But if you're afraid you'll get creeped out, then maybe not.

Don't do it. Its just a plastic and cardboard toy sure, but there is real evil in the world that loves to find a portal like someone interested in the occult and playing around just for fun.
It usually only brings in bad spirits..

I am wiccan and I would not mess with a ouija board if my life depended on it . people think its a toy but you can open doors you do not want to open.
I used it. It didn't seem to work, but honestly, I would never lie, alot of freaky stuff happened at my house!! We played it at a friends apt, and I was the one asking q's, and after that, I would hear noises, and omg, loooong story! In the end, everything went to normal after lots of prayer.

I'm old school. Even back then my freaky friends stayed away from this board. I don't won't to conjer up the Devil. He need's to stay in the depths of hell.
I'd be concerned what was behind any message that came through on one. I wouldn't consider it a toy as it is a tool for wayward spirits to come through.
I'm not a religious fanatic or anything, but in my opinion, I think using a Ouija Board is a BAD idea. My sister-in-law played with one once when she was a kid, and all of her friends asked when they were going to die. My sister-in-law freaked out and went home, but everyone else who was there died on the day and year that the Ouija Board predicted.
Sure, it could have been coincidence, maybe even bad karma or mojo or something. But why take the chance?
My opinion? Yes! Don't 'play' with these things at all. I Do know that you're inviting spirits into your world - not always the ones you want, also! I'd stay away from them... I have heard that people have had bad experiences with them.
And why tempt anything evil to come knocking? I don't know why they were ever released as a game.

My mom was never allowed one because she said it was very evil. I would stay away from it to be honest, I never had a desire to go there.
My friends and I played around with one back in High School. Most of it was VERY questionable (apparently we were talking with Al Capone!), but the creepiest was when someone who wasn't touching the board asked a question that only they knew the answer to....and we would get the right answer. Not just 'Yes' or 'No' answers, but specific answers.
As to whether or not it is a bad idea, I think that is a personal question. One of my friends refused to even be in the same room after a question of hers was answered. Possibly it is belief itself that gives power to it.
