Question for the English only?!

Question: If you lived in Wales would you want independence

Answers: If you lived in Wales would you want independence

I'd want to live next door to Welshy
I think we could cause some serious mayhem
I could get her drunk and convince her drunken tattoos are a good thing!

Damn right.

United we stand, divided we fall!

What's the point? This place is small enough as it is without dividing it even further.

No.

Edit: Oops, sorry Mrs C, I just farted. Hope you're ok down there.

I live in Wales and no I don't want indepence. Cos that means another level of Government. If we had out own laws like Scotland then yes but we can't survive without help.

I doubt very much that i would want independence i would want to know where the welsh gov were going to get enough taxes from to keep their country running smoothly.
PS: I hope the people of wales do get 100% independence then the English gov would be better off and able to spend more money on immigrants :-)

Hell yea!!!

Can I answer this question with a *fake* British accent?

Yes, I do.

no, i'd have to stop whingeing then, wouldn't i?

Sorry I'm not English, but Scottish, We have been fighting for our independence for years and years and finally got our own Scottish Parliment recently..... So all Welsh people out there good luck and stick together xxxxx

My mother was Welsh. I knew when I had gone too far as she would shout at me in Welsh!
Wales should be independent; own language and culture.
Unfortunately English politics have had a bad effect on Wales.
The pits have been closed; manufacturing has been closed. There is nothing left now.

If you got independence who would have to complain about. or blame when you made a mess of it.

Er, if I lived there, maybe, but from 10 miles away I'm sort of on the front line. Promise no cannons? Am this close to paying off the mortgage.....

Only if it was on the Scottish model where they are subsidised by England. (Don't give me the guff about Scottish oil. Even if the investment to get at it came from Scotland, which it didn't, the balance of payments is still in favour of the Scots).
Wales could not be self-sufficient.

As I'm English, I would fully support full independence for Wales, Scotland and Ulster - Providing that they stand on their own feet and don't get any more support (money, military, EU subsidy, £sterling, broadcasting, weather forecasting, MoD, DEFRA, or anything else) from England.

They could also pay for the Passport and Security Controls on the Severn Tunnel, Bridges and A47.

Until they're willing to do all that for themselves they can stop wingeing and stop burning our houses.
