A cat. It ran across the highway and I was going the speed limit-40 mph. I cried for days until my dad said he saw a white cat ( I hit a white cat) with tire marks on it walking around. He said the cat probably passed out on the road but later got up and left.
I was happy not because I believed that but because I had a father nice enough to tell me such a lie.
Yes: a fawn (I cried), a guinea, and assorted squirrels...
When I was 8 I accidently ran over a bird with my bike, his head popped off and I cried for a week!
nope not....been drivin 6 years, not one critter, people are another story.....
a rabbit, and a family of quail, complete with like 4 babies. I started crying, but i couldnt stop b/c there was a car right behind me. :(

i hit a squirrel once, it was terrible. i still think about it and cry.. :(

I've always considered it "unintentional critter suicide," because there's no way in hell I could have stopped in time considering they literally ran out into the road in front of my car so efficiently...
I almost believe they "wanted" to die...
I hit a skunk once. I felt horrible & boy did it stink!
Never done that... but I would scream like a little girl if I ever did.... funny thing about squirrels though... I think they run out in front of our cars on purpose... it's like an adrenaline rush for them... they are hooked.
Yes, due to the area we live in, road kill is very common!

I had a really bad week a few months ago, it seemed I was killing poor things left and right--even 2 birds in one day!
The only thing I have not hit is a deer, which is a miracle, I have came very close many times. My husband has killed several tho.
It is so bad, he had a special front bumper made for his truck so if he happens to hit one, it doesn't do damage to his truck.
Yes, a racoon... it was dark and he shouldn't have been in the road... oh and an armadillo... what can i say, i'm from Texas

Why did you have to remind me?? One night years ago, when my hubby was working, I decided to visit a friend. The road was dark and I felt a bump, looked in the rear view mirror and saw something flying through the air. My stomach did a lurch. I backed up so I could pull off the road, and thump again. By this time I was a basket case. I jumped out of the car to see what happened. There was this black cat hissing at me from behind a tree. I would have hissed at me, too, if I'd been hit twice. By this time, I was crying uncontrollably. I don't know what happened to him but maybe it was 2 of his 9 lives I saw flying through the air.
