I use a dremel rotary tool with a cutting bit, or I sometimes summon the forces of evil, but only rarely is that necessary.

I just bite into it, then peel it all. Sounds beastly, haha. It probably is.
With a knife. First I cut the top and bottom, then cut the skin from top to bottom (like the meridian lines on a globe) to make it easier and less messy to peel.
I use my fingernail BUT i only peel a thin strip all the way around the orange, so then im left with two halfs, the top and bottom, then because iv peeled a thin strip around the whole orange, i can just pull on the top half and it pops off easily, same with the bottom half! Dont know when i first started doing this, but since then its become much easier to carry the peels back to the bin, as its just 3 big bits, rather than all the tiny tiny bits!!
