Question: SHINGLES in my HEAD!!!!!!!!! It hurts so bad! They gave me some medicine by mouth, but is there anything I can do to stop the pain and burning? I know I always ask dumb questions but this is SERIOUS!

I too had shingles on my head and in my mouth. Yikes they hurt, When you have alot of pain and the itch is unbearable, try a damp cold wash cloth and put it on there, I also used ice to try to numb it. Some people say peppermint oil helped, but I didn't think so. I'm so sorry you are going through this, it's horrible. David Letterman had shingles on his head too the same time I did. Good luck with that and take that medicine.
They also say it's stress related and your immunity is down.

Shingles "in"your head? People don't get shingles IN the head, or IN any other part of their body. Make up another silly question, why don't you?
Shingles are very painful at times doll. Try not to scratch them. He should have given you a topical ointment also to help with the burning and itching. Give him a call back and ask, or see your pharmacist for OTC creams.

I feel so bad for you ,,,my mom had them a few yrs ago and she was going nuts from the pain...I will say some prayers for you and if I hear of anything or read about something for shingles I will let ya know...Take care and get as much rest as you can...
