My neighborhood, you call the cops. We have a nice neighborhood surrounded by a not so nice one but becoming nice because of the caring people that will stand up and make it that way. We see anything strange or not right, we do something about it. To heck with feeling embarrassed if it saves someone's property, etc.

We had that before. They stayed for a month. Nobody did anything to them but ask questions. The story was they had no where else to go. But if I parked my van in that same spot, you'd bet I'd be asked to move it...even though it's right across the street from my bedroom window....
You probably should get with more than one person at a time, in a group and go ask if they're lost or need help....
well you can always go out and ask the guy if he is looking for someone specific. Tell him that one of your parents sent you out to ask him, maybe he will get the idea that you are not alone..or your roommates, not sure of your age.

There are some real weirdos out there. Don't be embarrassed to call the cops. That's what they are there for, honey. If we lived near you, I would send my husband to check on it for you.
That's happened to me before... I called the cops, just in case. They just came and checked out the car, and asked what the guy was doing there... And right after the cops left, the guy left. So I think it was a good thing I called. I freaked. It was pretty scary. :O
embarrassing? I wouldn't go talk to him. I might get the binoculars out and watch him if he's been there for a really long time. Just to check out what he's doing, to ensure a call to the cops is not warranted. Sometimes I sit in my car and do paperwork or eat lunch, I wonder if this is what people inside the near by homes are thinking of me.

I would take down the license plate number and description of the van and call the police. That has happened in my neighborhood before and that's what I did. The police don't mind coming out to check out the situation.
