What can you have done to bring your guilt to this community? Oh, what a sad state of affairs, that one must subject herself to the public scrutiny of the hoi polloi.
In the old days, your religion would give you plenty of punishment. We can't do that any more. Teachers used to be allowed to punish, but that's gone by the boards. Parents used to dole out the discipline, but they're limited in their capacities there. Maybe this is your only option!
Alright, how about this... Call your worst enemy and apologize to him/her for something. Maybe you snubbed this person once. Maybe there's some long-standing misunderstanding between you that you bear some small amount of responsibility for. Making this call will be painful to do (thus the punishment aspect) but some good may result.
