i don't know, i didn't like sleeping in that position either....or with my husband's back turned to me either....sooooo...i guess it feels more intimate if i have my head on his chest or if we face each other.....who knows....maybe she doesn't like sleeping on her side....
maybe she feels more comfortable laying on her right or left side.
it could be something emotional for her... may be she wants to proove that she wont turn her self from you.. ( may be its kind of showing respect and love for you..)

it could be because she feels more comfortable sleeping with you in the position she sleeps in and sometimes, women feel more secure whilst having their partners literally close to them, just speak to her and tell her that you get tired and would like for her to change her side during the night-time.
