Once, this guy (rumor had it that he crushed on me), went up to me, and you could totally tell he was nervous (but at that time I was clueless about his hopeless romantic).
I was wearing this new top I got, and SO...
he says... "Oh, that top looks great on you. uhh.. hm. yeah. like. yeah. hahah. okay."
And I go, "oh, thank you!"
and so he's just standing there, and I'm just standing here. It's all awkward.
Then he looks for something to say, and THIS is what he thought of ..
"yeah. your top compliments you.... it.. er.. um. makes you seem unbelievably thin today."
...
(I walk away -.-)

Yes, my mother-in-law said my "Glamour Shots" didn't look "anything like me!!!" She really meant it to be a compliment, but it kinda came out wrong. We both laughed like cazy!!!!

Yes at my old job (glad it is, ha, ha) the foreman told me that I was doing a good job. He followed that comment with don't let it go to your head. Several months later he once again told me that I was doing a good job and followed it with that same stupid comment of but don't let it go to your head again. I told him if he has to follow a compliment with an insult, don't bother.

I always feel insulted when people say "You look great.....to have had 2 kids". I am the same size right now that I was in high school, so how is it that I looked good then, but now I just look good considering I have two kids? I asked my ex fiance if he thinks I need a boob job and he said he loves my little boobies. That was an insulting compliment, too.
