Would you hire someone that doesn't believe in God?!

Question: You knew this for sure because you searched the applicant's name and saw their religious affiliation on their MySpace.

Answers: You knew this for sure because you searched the applicant's name and saw their religious affiliation on their MySpace.

erm............ this is honestly a stupid question. Under federal law you cannot discriminate.
AND as per viewing their webpage - that hasn't anything to do with the job application. Those issues are entirely seperate. What a person does or says in his/her personal life has little relevance to the thier job and/or job performance. Provided they aren't giving away company secrets.

Personally, i think you are in the wrong for checking it out. And even more so for even asking this Q. Thier webpage hasn't anything to do with job qualifications. AND if you refuse to hire someone (or allow a webpage to affect your PERSONAL view of the employee) you could set yourself up for a suit. Especially if the individual finds out.
Be careful.

?

Yes, it wouldnt affect my decision...and legally its not allowed to anyways.

Well, if I was an employer, and if he was fit for the job, then of course I would! I would be hiring him/her for his/her working abilities, not their personal life.

depends what job it is.

I wouldn't necessarily hire them based on their religion. What they believe in is their business. I'd hire them based on the qualities they have and the connection to the qualities I need from them. That's it.

Yes. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and it is not my place to judge them.

If they have got the skills to pay the bills.

Yes, I would. Why wouldn't I hire someone that has almost the same beliefs as me? Besides religion doesn't matter as long as the person doesn't force their religion on me.

yes but i wouldn't trust what it says on myspace. i have friends that say they're Buddhist but aren't

Of course. it's against the law to discriminate against anyone because of religion or lack thereof.

Yes. It's their choice. There's nothing wrong with not believing in God. It won't hurt my decision in any way.
