I say leave it as it is, it's got a nice rustic feel to it and the ladies dig that. If you're concerned about odor, however, you might want to light a match or two.

perhaps some bare electrical wiring hooked to the springs and a nice set of cuffs and anklets chained to the wall would be nice . A whip , gag ball and riding crop would also add to the ambiance .
make sure the sheets are changed and once everything has a home nothing on the floor open the window let fress air in just have nice smell in the room

just throw some straw on the floor and get a sleeping bag and you're set. i like it, it's got a medieval look to it...
Buy a 'bed in a bag'! You can find these at dept. store, such as Macy's. They have all the things to make a nice bed: comforter, sheets, throw pillow, etc. Some even have drapery panels for your windows! You can find the colors and styles you like. Have a gal pal help you to set it up= some things like bedskirts and drapery panels may need an iron. Be sure to wash your sheets before the first time you use them or they could be scratchy. You can paint walls a neutral color. Find one that is on your new bedding and paint your walls. Green plants add life and color. A rug on the floor (small, one on each side of the bed or larger, in the middle of the room break up carpet or add warmth to uncarpeted floors. )Vanilla or Cinnamon candles make it smell yummy!
Just make it simple as possible, your choice of color is okey. There's nothing like nice and beautiful if your room is dirty and mess up..
