If god could be proved or disproved?!

Question: how do you think atheists would react if it could be proven that god does exist? on the other hand how would believers react if it could be proven that god didnt exist?

Atheists would believe
at least some would
they would need to see and touch the proof
believers would say that God has his reasons for planting false evidence.

I need no proof, I KNOW IT.

idk, i dont think some people would care either way to be honest

You should cart this Q over to "Religion and Spirituality" I think those folks over there would get a big kick out of it!!

Faith is proof.

I think the atheists would go "Oh well, I guess I was wrong" but the people who believe in deities would be furious and disbelieving.

That one girl is right...I wouldn't care either way...

I think if you're an athiest that even if their was so called 'proof', they'd still deny it. They will be afraid to admit they were wrong. The same with Christians and being no God.

I think agnostic people will be the people who are easily swayed either way.

Interesting question!

if we use god as a figure head of a given faith.
and a god was proven to be.
there would still be other gods who were not.
the jury would still be out.
therefore one could still be an atheist

I can prove it, indisputably and in line with the laws of physics, through the undeniable existence of what is in fact physically impossible.

I'll give you a starting point:

"I think, therefore, I am" - Descartes

Work it out yourself.

I still think some of the Atheists wouldn't believe it!
I don't believe there would ever be proof he didn't exist, so I guess I'm stubborn that way.

I'm atheist and i couldn't care if god exists or not.
if it was proven that god didn't exist i think most religious people would still believe in god
nothing would change much

I know deep in my heart that god does not exist and my faith will let me sleep in on a sunday.

Believers: They would be devasted. That proof would disrupt their natural order of life, cause serious self doubt and feelings of guilt. Many, I'm sure, would be in denial, and it could cause depression, because they would not have anything to live for.
Atheists: They would be shocked that they did not see the truth, and their scientific minds would accept the proof, though they would have to rethink everything.

10 points to number one...she is so right!!!!

If proof of a God came about, the atheists would have to accept the empirical evidence that they have asked for all along. I would be more interested in learning how believers would react to find out that God isn't anything like they have been led to believe. And He's really ticked off.
