Really askward question...?!

Question: Ok! How are you ladies and gents doing today? Fine I hope. For those who has experienced it, or just know what to do, i have a question. Let's say that you got stuck with the coldest room, and nobody wants to turn the heat up because the bill would be higher. The heat is on but at different times. What would you do to warm your room up?? Besides wearing 2-3 layers of clothes? :P I just cant find a way to warm the room up :D

First thing to do is to keep the cold out. If you have drapery on the window(s) keep them closed but if you get direct sunlight open them to get the radiant heat from the sun. Floor length draper will help to keep the cold out. You might also consider covering the window(s) with plastic (think storm windows). Also be sure there are no leaks from the outside into your room, check for drafts around windows and doors. Keep your closet door closed too.

When the heat is on in the house open your door and let as much heat in as possible.

If you have hard floors (tile, wood, etc) use area rugs to help insulate the floor. Remember that cold air sinks, warm air rises so cold air collects at floor level, all the warm air is up by the ceiling. Keep your feet warm and the room will feel warmer. If you have a ceiling fan turn it on reverse-low, that will help move the warm air down from the ceiling.

Turn on lights or appliances you might have in the room (computers, TV, etc, they all put off heat) or you could get a small electric heater.

Dress smarter, not warmer, wear socks or slippers to keep your feet warm, a layer of light, but warm clothing that allows moisture to wick away from your skin is better than heavy layers. With heavy layers you could actually overheat, perspire slightly which gets your skin damp, the moisture will be trapped under the heavy clothing and you will end up feeling colder. Especially true when you go to bed, many people wear way too many clothes to bed, get overheated and end up getting cold during the night when they are under heavy blankets wrapped up in heavy clothes.

Before you go to bed pull back the covers, let the sheets warm a bit, don't wear heavy clothing, your natural body heat will warm up the bed, it will be cold at first but it will warm up. Flannel sheets are great in cold weather, a light blanket and then a comforter or heavier spread over that. The idea is to again, build a layer that allows wicking of moisture and insulating warmth for your natural body heat and you will stay warm all night.

And be sure to move around a little bit now and then and of course you could always get someone to cuddle with

Space heater.

uh get a blanket or a jacket

Portable heater with a smoke alarm nearby.

Play time with happy button always warms me up

Sleep under an electric or warming blanket.

Get a space heater

Find a partner and get busy.

put a whole bunch of candles in the room =D

oh my gosh i experience the same thing as you! it's annoying right? the guy doesnt want to pay for the heating bill plus he is never cold haha i usually put covers around me to keep warm and drink some hot chocolate or coffee ;-) brr haha

more insulation in the walls, warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer

Figure out why it is colder. Like is their a draft? A big window that needs to be insulated? Vents in the floor? Figure it out and fix the problem.

Id eat and eat and eat till I gained 200 lbs, you ever notice really heavy people sweat just from breathing???

Turn the heating down in all the other rooms.

make sure the windows were covered in plastic.. Maybe place a flannel sheet folded (usually queen size is good) in half to cover the doorway. I light candles in my livingroom that gets cold . about 6 of them and that helps with the heat. and a space heater always helps.

just say either someone warms this place up or i'm leaving

okay so there are different ways to do this. if you want to go poor style you staple a blanket over your window from now on because air can come in through it. if you do exercises everyday you can do them when you know youre going to be in your room. your body will warm up that way. make sure there are no drafts coming from your room, like cracks in the closets and stuff. get a small heater. they can heat up on room pretty good. make sure that you have a surge protector or an alarm because some of these can be dangerous. or you can get one that turns off after a certain period of time. also try those really thick fuzzy socks. they keep your feet really warm.

Oh, god I'm so with you on this one. I put on a few layers, and I have this bag filled with beans or something that you put in the microwave and it gets HOT and then I lay with it and that warms me up. I wear my UGGs to sleep and I spend about 90% of my home time in bed.

To keep worm I condition myself but it's not going well.
