Why do people pull their shirts over their nose when someone passes gas?!

Well it smells good in my shirt because the smell of the soap, lotion, and spray in there along with body heat. Plus the smell of clean clothing. Usually the smell of gas will probably subside too soon to go into the shirt.

sort of, also some brands of deoderant are stronger and the smell of those can overpower the small of the fart if your nose is down your shirt. and they might be trying to be funny.

because the only thing that can negate the horrible smell of gas is the clean pure smell of fabric softner *warm fuzzies*
For me, the scent of my perfume/clothes washing stuff overrides the smell of gas...
But normally I'll plug my nose and breathe through my mouth or I'll cover my nose with my hoodie sleeve (Lotion scent overrides it to death X.X).
No. It's specifically enhanced to where they can smell their own beloved BO.
I tried it one time in the car when a teenager we were riding with passed gas (I did it discreetly) and the perfume that I was wearing was so strong on my skin that I smelled my body instead of his gas!!! and it was VERY helpful! although the smell still came through a little bit
lol lol lol no Im sure that is the gassious odor is THAT putrid it for sure could penetrate the weve of the fabric, but I think a combo of slightly barring the odor combined w the smell of your own body & more than likely the moving form the locations of the gassious escape probably in the long run keeps the blunt of the putridness from overcoming a person !! LOL LOL LOL
