What's the point of an area rug?!
Question: Well, for ME, the point of an area rug would be to cover up the furball stains my cat has hurled up. But I think they're just supposed to be decorative.

No point, their just pretty and add a little extra to the decor.

THERE IS NO POINT!!!! After a while it just gets completely ruined and you wonder why you ever paid $500 on it in the first place!!!!!

Mostly aesthetic. Just makes the place look good/better. My dogs like em too.
You would lose a line rug and a volume rug would keep getting in the way.
