Poll: Do you feed ...............!

Question: the wild life in your yard ... ?

My yard backs up to an orchard, and the Catoctin Mountains (I am about 10 minutes away from Camp David ..... beautiful).
I feed all of the wild birds, of course, but I also have deer, raccoons, oppossums, foxes ... you name it ... that visit my yard.
I love that about living near the mountains ... :)

What is the most unusual animal that has visited your yard ... ?

A little gray fox!!!!

We've also had deer, squirrel - we had a mother with babies!, Rabbits, Hawks, bats,oppossuims,racoon.......

..... my favorite...a tiny baby hummingbird...it was sooo small like a bumble bee!

edit; ...& I feed them.

no good for uu

Um honestly we live on a mountain so kangaroos and no we dont feed them ...your not ment to either!

Yes, especially in winter. We live in the suburbs, but we get possums, skunks, and various other critters who lose their homes to effing STRIP malls.

no

well i live in the city-so not a lotta animals, but once i saw a deer

the most unusual animal would be the porcupine.....uhhh freaky! and i did feed it! i feed most of the stuff that pops into my yard occasionally!!!!!!!

no.... I have a hard enough time feeding the wild life inside the house..... :D

umm do hobos count....they are always getting into our dumpster behind my house... my husband is always chasing them off our property....only wild life is the feral cats out by the R.V.s., but we dont feed them...

You are lucky! I would love to have all that wildlife in my backyard!

I have bird feeders out. We have tons of hummingbirds. And there are coyotes in the canyons, but we try to keep them from coming up here since they attack pets.
I have seen a bobcat, that was cool!

I sometimes feed the bums, too..they come right up to you at the 7-11..they aren't even scared! Usually I give them a buck or two, if I have it.

I live in Michigan, just outside Detroit. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way if wild life visiting my yard. I feed the birds and the squirrels though.

No, but my G-ma does. She actually MAKES food for the squirrels. Some peanut butter, bird seed stuff. They are the biggest, most aggressive squirrels ever!

i live right in seattle, so our wildlife consists of birds (all types), of course, squirrels, possums, raccoons, an occasional coyote, and rats and mice. i feed everything!!!

There are no flufy animals in my yard to feed.

*sad face*

I too love feeding the wildlife. I didn't get a chance to see it, but one time I came home and all of the birdfeeders were smashed and cleaned out. We assume it was a bear.
The coolest thing I have witnessed is a fawn in my backyard crying. It sounded like a cross between a goat and a baby crying. So I went outside and made the same noise back to it. It walked right into plain view.....then became annoyed that I wasn't it's mother.

I live in the city but hopefully in the next 6 or 8 weeks we'll be moving into our new house in the country in the hills and hollows I grew up roaming. The property is full of deer, squirrels, raccoons, some turkeys, rabbits etc. I plan on putting a deer feeder behind the house and planting winter grass for them to feed on all around the house. I do hunt deer, I rarely kill them but not for lack of opportunity, during the few occasions I was able to go hunting this winter I saw probably 50. I also love to look at them and wouldn't shoot them in the yard anyway. I am SO looking forward to getting out of town!
