Do you have a Master's degree? In what? Do you think a Masters degree is wor!

Question: So, I graduate with my MBA in Marketing in May, but a lot of articles I read pretty much say any masters degree is kind of useless.

Do you think a post undergraduate degree is worth all that freakin debt you'll accumulate?

It just sucks having all those degrees and once you have kids and stay home with them for 5 yrs the degrees become useless.

I don't have a Masters. I don't think any kind of education is useless, it shouldn't only be based on only getting a job. Now that you are done school, you are a well-educated woman, and it's very important to be well-educated, whether you have a good paying job or not.

Expensive, yes, but useless, no.

For some people depending on what they go thru for studies, the student loans they accumulate and the lack of drive that person has, I'd say no. But if you plan on making something of yourself then it's all worth it. A mate of mine has five masters and is working at McDonalds!

Yes I do...have one and think it is worth it. Mine is in Special Ed and I definitely have better job choices because of it.

Its good for you that you went and finished ... I'm still floating around trying to figure out what to do with my life and still trying to convince myself to go to college ... I don't see why it would be useless its a degree isn't it?

It really depends on what you do with it. It may or may not be worth the mountain of debt especially if you want to have children as you will undoubtedly take time off of work for that.

My degree is from the school of Hard Knocks, plus I graduated from the most strict Catholic school known anywhere, you may have heard of it...

Our Lady of the Blessed Guilt Trip.

With your MBA you have MUCH better chance at higher income and profession choices than BA alone.

I'm skipping Masters and getting DDS directly and although I'll have a quarter million under my belt in debt, I'll make much more so it is all good.

An MBA is only useful for Engineering, Chemistry, etc. It's still worth it to get one. If you end up in a field with people that obtained an MBA, you would wish you had it.

Many people get an MBA or doctorate in History. Just super-you qualify as a head librarian.

You go to college for 8-9 years, get out and make $25k.

No degree is worthless, who ever said that must not have one or if they do they cant get a job and has gotten a little discouraged... I can admit I don't use my degree but I wont say its useless that's a accomplishment in my life and I can aways fall back on it when times get rough and the higher the degree the better. I have been turned down several times because I only have an associates degree. And as far as the debt goes your education can pay for your debt if you choose the right field and job. You will make far more money then your debt if you continue to manage your money right!

2 associate degrees Health Service Mgmt and Nursing plus I wanna go back to upgrade! (online only can't do the claassroom thing anymore)

I'm working on my Masters right now I've got a year left and I will be doing post graduate work and internship of course I'm taking law and not marketing.
I'm not sure about the marketing field but it seems to me in any field you work post grad work will help you out. But I'm also told that you will learn more in your first year of employment then you did in two years of school.
I think you're best bet is to start looking around for a job before you graduate if you find your selections limited then go back to school if not you can always go back later
good luck
