There are lots of different opinions. Some believe the Adam and Eve story of coarse, which is that man (an woman) were thrown out by "god" because they did the one thing god supposedly told 'em not to do.

technically we were created on earth, not in heaven. Nobody pre-exists. Adam & Eve were created on earth, from the ground. (if you are asking on Biblically).
God breathes life into the soul - but our bodies are formed and fashioned in the womb; on earth, not in heaven.
but maybe God got bored, and that's why he made us? Personally i think i am heaven's attempt at a practical joke lol as i really can't see a good reason and purpose for my existence.

So we can experience things, get a body and prove that we deserve to be in heaven.
so that when we spend our time on here we'll make the most of it and cherish the things that we loved so that when our time comes we'll be going to heaven instead of hell...i guess...
