That's an awesome question... I wonder the same thing. I also like when I'm in line at the grocery store and the person in front of me has their nails done, a designer bag and designer clothes and then they hand the clerk their food stamp card.

for some people cigs, and alcohol are necessities. to cope with anxiety and depression that does not respond well to medication. the babies thing yeah i agree with you on that one.

I have some empathy for people who are poor perhaps its guilt B/C my family has money and I've never gone without.
every one has a chance to succeed here in America but so many can't even take care of their own personal finances.
it's really a shame we can't offer more help to these people the way the system is now.

Because they haven't set priorities. Actually the only priorities they have are cigarettes, booze and getting laid. Actually I'm tired of paying their bills-----------via welfare_-------->
I know a family on welfare and they have satellite tv, cellphones, internet, Things like that that are NOT necessities. It really bothers me that we are paying for these things for them!!
And they're also the ones that drive the cars us working class can't afford!

Welfare needs to be re-reformed.
It all comes down to how the parents were living and treated when they were young!!
and education levels!
