  • Rarely, it seems like.

Every now and then the 'bear' gets to eat one.

No, no punishment can fit crimes in which people are victimized.
    These crimes destroy lives.

IDK, but I have a good friend who's an retired judge. He told me not to expect to find justice in a courtroom.
    Kind of...disappointing, huh?

Yes, but in appeals on points of law, they are often re-tried in any case (the accused remain in custody in relation to serious cases). One of the more common grounds for appeal on a point of law is based upon a submission that the judge has erred at law in his or her charge to the jury (explanation of matters of law to be applied to the facts). Accordingly, dismantling the jury system should have the effect of minimising this significant, inefficient and costly avenue. In general terms, your concern about deprivation of liberty is valid, but we need to bear in mind the purpose of remand in custody in the first place.

    yes, only man perverts it.
