that is really sad.
i didnt even care what i looked like at 12! i was just like, meh i'll just throw my hair in a ponytail, who cares about brushing it.

Yes, I wonder, what their dumb parents are doing !!

Ugh ... yes. They need help. =(
I wish I could hug them and
tell them that it'll be ok.

i know its really bad! im starting to feel like i eat really unhealthily now!

yeah they're nuts!

Big is beautiful, and the sooner they realise it the better LOL

it's nothing new. That doesn't make it better, but I am not shocked by it anymore.

If you are 12 then you should not be here so bye bye!!!!!!!

It's not their faults.

Media, parents, teachers and pretty much everyone and everything they come in contact with hounds them about diet, exercise, nutrition, and being healthy.

I think our nation as a whole needs to just chill, especially young kids who are on the edge of a hopefully wonderful life.

They are just seeking attention...x

They are just mirroring those around them...

Yep....People are too worried about doing anything these days because of this ridiculous nanny society that has been imposed on us.

I eat what I want, when I want to eat it and if I want to eat it whilst walking down the middle of the road in my pants then I am gunna do it whether the friggin Government are worried or not.

i'm only a few years older but yes it scares me
to think i got really scared when my friends first started dieting
they're asking questions like 'is it safe to only eat one full meal a day?' and 'how do i get abs?'

Im actually very shocked but yet im not suprised with the amount of skinny celebs in the media today

no

Yes, children shouldn't be using the computer for more than school purposes, in my opinion. I truly hope they realize that they are children and they will grow! Children shouldn't be having body concerns like this. What they should do instead of asking questions like this is go outside and play!

I'm not so much worried about the kids asking as I am the people answering. The other questions that bother me are the sex questions. I'm glad kids have a place that they can go for answers, but when anyone is allowed to say anything, then people shirk their responsibility to give good good answers. Yikes. A girl asked "What do I do if my boyfriend wants to have sex with me?" There were a lot of helpful answers about "making sure you're ready," and "if you have to ask, then you aren't ready." But of course, the first guy on the list wrote "just say yes and do it." I wish that there was a way to slap someone over the Internet.

Yes and no. They may just be curious as to how much they should weigh and what they should be eating...But then again it could be the start of an eating disorder. You can never really tell. The media and so on portray people as being so skinny its ridiculous ... So of course they're going to want to be just as skinny ... Not healthy but its reality

When I was 10 I developed and eating disorder and I think I weighed under 69lbs until I was 15....

Honey, if you are 2 pounds, you are dead! You are still growing. Unless you are obese or heavily overweight, why are you spending time worrying about it? When you mess with your growth years, you cause all kind of physical problems for yourself. You can affect your height by not getting enough nutrition. I have been 4'11" since I was 12 and I am now an old fart! I used to be the biggest kid in class. When I entered HS I suddenly became the smallest. I found all kinds of great things to do being short. Boys used to love to carry all my books because they thought I was too tiny to do anything or reach anything.

Unless, of course, you want to be sick and the center of attention for the rest of your life. Learn ways in which you can make better choices instead. Coping strategies work better and longer and help you mature faster. Unless you want to make everyone around watch you slowly die. If that's the case, then knock yourself out. But, do it yourself. Don't ask for our help.

If, on the other hand, you are telling us that you are over 200 lbs. then my advice is to have your school counselor or therapist help you find better alternatives to help you solve some of life's issues. You may be using food to cope. Not good. Help yourself now while you are young. Do find help with your counselor. Don't listen to what everyone in your friendship circle is saying. They are your age and they don't know any better than you.

How, you may ask, do I know all this? I was a fat kid. I am 4'11 and over 200 lbs still. It is the hardest thing to change when you are older like me. Your habits need to change while you are 12 not 62. Your counselor can help you discover how to cope with life's problems and how to feed yourself so that you are not eating to hide problems. Do it for yourself, not your bf or your boyfriend, or because you are told to. Do it because you may not like yourself, but you will learn to accept yourself and then like yourself.

wtf...your 2 pounds?

I'm sure this is a type-o....you sure you are only 2 pounds....or is it you have about 2 pounds of air in your head....

4'11" and 2 pounds? Not possible!
