When was the last time you felt like you were an azz?!
Question: It was today for me. Just now, in fact. We had a large snow storm last night. 8 inches of the heavy white snow was on the ground. I shoveled my walkway on 2 sides of the house because I am on a corner lot and there is a school across the street for little kids. Anyway, my neighbors both work at school, so I shovel the one side of their home because they could not do so before the kids got out. Anyway, I am mostly finished shoveling the snow and I saw there was no one at school. They had a snow day today, meaning my neighbors were home and could shovel their own damn snow. <sigh> Oh well.

If you normally help them out when they are not home why should you feel bad for not doing it when they are home? I think it's wonderful that you do it when you don't have to and they should appreciate it~~

That doesn't make you an azz, act like you did it on purpose. They'll love you for it!
Why on Earth would you feel like an azz my friend? They are your neighbors. It's called looking out for each other. I'm sure you've heard of "Pay it Forward". Consider this ... exactly that. Perhaps they will now be motivated to do something nice for you ... or even someone else. And if they aren't ... you are the better person most definitely. =)
Remember, that we are an example of the kindnesses we share and the good we do for one another. You should not feel silly .. but rather uplifted by the good deed you have done. We see "neighborly love" so rarely anymore that we should all be more willing to do just what you did today. Never forget that what goes around comes around ... the good that you do will come back to you ... this I know for sure.
