Why do most people dislike police officers so much?!

Dirty Cops
Because most of them nowdays are corrupt. They watch too many episodes of COPS and they want to believe they have a right to kick your door in if they feel like it. Cops used to be cool but not anymore.

nar, its like that with every job, there are good and bad, police officers steal put their life on the line for us

Because some pull you over for stupid sh!t. Some are just as dirty as a homeless man. Some smoke more crack than a crackhead! They take the drug dealers money and buy things with it.
It's when they (and I know for sure it happens a LOT around here) do illegal things they themselves should know better that.
Becxause you can always tell the ones who wnated to be cops all of their lives because they are the biggest dicks ever. I mean yea they are doing their job and I have very hihg respect for them but they can go power hungry and they feel they have to use all their authority on the smallest things. I mean, they're only humna and all humans can become different when given power.
Here in New Zealand we hold our police in high regard.

No most of the time, they pull people over, just to get their pay check when it could have been let go. Like letting a woman off is just pathetic, when they turn right around and pull over a guy and he gets a $1,000 ticket. Most of the ones where I live are big fat hypocrites.
don't dislike all of them but some of them act like they run the world or something. and what pisses me off is the the speed on the roads without their lights on. turn the goddamn lights on if your suppose to get somewhere in a hurry.

I disagree with you, MOST people do not hate cops. Only lawbreakers do, and people that have no respect for authority and property etc...
I would think people do not like that they have so much power. I myself have no feelings toward them positive or negative. I'm glad to know if I'd call they'd come.

They only dislike them when they are stopping them from breaking the law.I wonder how many of these cop hating people would survive without cops because it would be hell on earth.
I personally dont dislike them.
However, they always give that look...even if you arent doing anything they'll make you feel like they are just watching every move you make. When that happens, I'll smile and wave.
There's also been many cases around here where they didnt exactly do the best job the could have done.
I wouldnt mind dating a cop either though.

If I was speeding in a car down the freeway (which I can't I'm not old enough) and they didn't stop me, then I would start to worry. I don't like it when they book you for five over, but if it's 10 over, I understand that. It's only when they stop you for stupid things.
I also dislike arrogant cops, who think that they are better than us and treat us like lower beings because they have the badge.
i dont know why then don't. despite the garbage they deal with on a daily basis some of them can be some of the nicest people you'd ever meet like my friends and I. i have to hand it to my buddies back home since they deal with a lot more than i do being a civilian cop in south florida
I don't hate all cops. I hate the cops who abuse the law and harm people who don't deserve it. What they do affects everyone else who wears a badge.
I'm from a small town and the cops there are mostly people that were born there and have never left, so it's the big fish in the little pond syndrome. Their reall cocky and arrogant. I've watched them follow one of the local judges (a commonly known town drunk) home from the bar to make sure he got home ok, knowing he was wasted. I have no respect for the cops in my hometown

Frankly it appears as if everyone 'hates' the cops.. _UNTIL_ they _-*NEED*-_ police intervention! Whether it be cause their car stereo was stolen, H3ll even their car or whatever!!!
After all, they like _-*everyone *-_ else are just doing their _JOBS_! Although, I do NOT condone all the cops who abuse the badge! Those who SPEED with NO lights or sirens or the ABUSE.
Granted it's a _VERY_ stressful job(highest divorce rates) but!

only reason is because some cops are dirty cops... and thats where it gets to the disliking
because they give u tickets for no reason and it k if u did something but if u r going in a place 35 and u r going 42 u get pulled over different story
I agree with you, some people just have problems with authority. And people don't like being caught doing something wrong.
