It's hard enough, being abused, and getting out of such a situation has little to do with having an affair. First and foremost one has to get out.
Having an affair and the right or wrong of that, would be of 2% importance while being in a truly abusive situation. Getting out of that always has priority especially if the situation is regular.
It took me over ten years to get out. It will take me lots of time to get back on my feet and an affair is just about the last thing on ones mind while recovering.
