Do you make an effort to pick a "best answer" or do you let YA choose !
Question: It always seems a bit rude to me not to after people have gone to the effort of answering, but then leaving it for others to decide is more democratic, what do you do ?

Make an effort, some are missed because of the W/E and not logging on Monday but as a rule I tend to chose Best Answer myself.
I always pick a best answer, because I am like you and get a little annoyed by people who always let their questions go to the vote.
Besides, MY question so I decide what the best answer is.
Always choose a Best Answer and read them all.
And what I find most annoying is when an asker states "10 points for the first correct answer", and the question then turns up in undecided questions only for an incorrect answer to get the vote, because it was first in the queue.
Only when I can't decide on one best answer!

I have always choose the best answer, and like to leave a comment on the best answer and the overall responce. I think that's the least you can do if people have been so good as to answer your question. :)

I read all the answers and pick the one that I think has given the most honest or funny response. I think it shows I care more.
I got cross when i couldn't pick a best answer as i asked then went on holiday before i was allowed. They picked a really bad one i was gutted.
I always pick a best answer - it seems wrong when people go to the trouble of answering that you can't give them the courtesy of letting them know it was appreciated.
I pick best answers. It's not rude to let it go to vote if you can't decide. Someone will still get points and it's not going to waste. Undecided votes do.

I always choose a best answer and I read every answer.Sometimes its really hard to choose as lots of answrs are informative then I ususally in my message thank that person as well as the favourite.
When I get a Best Answer on a question I have answered it makes it all worthwhile as you feel you have helped someone be it a personal dilemma or something obscure.
I always choose best answer myself. I asked the question, I wanted to know what people had to say, and I read all the answers- so I might as well choose.
Well if my question gets only a few answers, then I will pick the BA. But if my question gets a lot of answers, then I will let the voters do it as it would be too difficult for me to pick a BA when there's a lot of answers.
I usually pick an answer that has either the most votes, or the first person with the most common answer. I only let others choose if I can't decide what the best one is.

I always pick my best answer....when i'm the one asking the Q...why would i want anyone else to decide which one i thinks best....yes i agree....it does seem a bit rude if someone doesnt pick their own....but sometimes people don't know who to choose.
