Question: Why is it that people saying ten points for best answer in their question makes more people want to open it? Don't you already know that you'll receive ten points if your answer is best?

Honestly, I thought I was going to click on here & find a real interesting question. Oh well, maybe next time.
Yeah :] I guess it's all in the mind. Because, it is, it's like bait!
But like at the end of mine, I put that I'll pick best answer. Because it hurts my feelings (okay, not that much, I love the points), but I like when the asker picks best better.

i am not sure why when it says ten points for the best answer more people answer it.... people who have been using yahoo answers for a while should know about the 10 points for the best answer but i guess it just works on our minds and we think omgosh 10 points i need to answer that... :)
We open it because we want to know what the actual question is.
I've opened several of these and to most of them I've not known the answer.
It is the law of supply and demand.
You are supplying something we are in need of....
Why I need 10 pts is simply unclear......purely self-centered I am sure.
