It has to be cynicism, because the existence of God can be neither proven nor disproven in absolute, irrefutable terms.

when they discover all the lies that they have been fed since childhood. or perhaps when they really needed help and the calls went unheeded.

And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll go to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity. But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money!
well they think god is a fairy tale, they think that god got to make the world like heaven, and everyone should be happy and perfect, they just want to control god, and they bellieve in false theorys like evolution.... and some of them became athiests because of thier parents, and athiest just afraid from the idea of god, instead in looking in it, they're just denying it...
